Science vs. God

I have come across this a number of times on different sites. I do not know who wrote it or whether it is based on a real classroom occurrence or not. Either way, I do like it. In the end it serves as a good reminder that sometimes things are not what they seem.

“Let me explain the problem science has with Jesus Christ.” The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand.

“You’re a Christian, aren’t you, son?”

“Yes sir,” the student says.

“So you believe in God?”

“Is God good?”

“Sure! God’s good.”

“Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?”

“Are you good or evil?”

Broncos forcast to win by 5.5

Likely the toughest game of the season will begin tomorrow at 2pm MT. It is expected to be very close. This win will clench the WAC title and help to secure a bowl game. Speaking of which, the BYU-Utah game will also be an important one. Utah is still ranked 2 ahead, so a loss for Utah and a win for BSU will put us solidly in the mix for another BCS game.

I don't care how much we are expected to win by, I always get anxious during a game. Especially one that starts off by Idaho taking it all the way to the end zone on the first play. And also where they keep the score down to 17-10 at the half. And where our normally rock solid kicker ends up missing by that much. Arg, gotta break out the Tums for things like that.

The second half was better. Much better. After their initial 10 points, Idaho was unable to answer. The final score: 45-10 BSU.

Boise State ranked 9th. Next up: Vandals

The Broncos progress one more spot after their win over Utah State. The somewhat ugly win on Saturday afternoon (12 penalties, 114 yards) takes us one step closer to another bowl game. Those penalties will have to be checked at the door when we get to one of the potential bowls: Sugar, Orange, or Fiesta so far.

Listed at number 9 in the BCS, the Broncos are still undefeated this season and hope to keep it that way with the road game against the U of I Vandals.

Rivalry Week. You wouldn't know it around campus. Seems like just another week and everyone expects the big W.

Fox News calls it a win for Obama.

I call it a loss for us. There are so many reasons to cry right now. The most liberal Senator in America has just been voted into office by a country that has a conservative majority. You want change? How about change for the worse. He will deliver...

Higher taxes through tax-cut lapses
Socialized health care
Banning of firearm ownership
Gay and lesbian marriages
Illegal imigration

I'm not saying society here was perfect before him, or that McCain was the obvious choice. The leader of the country is supposed to reflect the opinion of the people. In this case, I believe that America was duped. That many held on to one or maybe two issues (the war and economy) and conveniently ignored the rest. Is it that it doesn't affect them directly so why worry about it? Is it that they just don't know how he has voted or what his policies will be? Or because there is "hope" for "change"?

As far as I'm concerned he's about as far away from a Christian as possible on the moral issues. If he truly is a Christian as he says he is, let his life and policies reflect that. Let the way he leads the country reflect that. I would hope the same for anyone else, but especially those in power who can change the lives of millions with the stroke of a pen.

Oh, and he still has not provided a valid birth certificate. Grrr...

Oh, we're movin' on up! Polls released yesterday puts BSU in the and slots. The New Mexico State Aggies got a shellacking at the hands of the Broncos on Saturday. I was hoping to break into the 50's but had to settle for 7 unanswered touchdowns. Dang.
