BSU beats SJSU, progresses to #11 spot

The Broncos have moved up a spot in the polls to . The road win against San Jose State, which has historically been a tough game for us, keeps BSU undefeated this season. Coach Pete made the comment that the game went about how they had imagined it. There were a few too many yellow flags flying around for my comfort. If they could have kept the unnecessary fouls out of the picture, the score could have been closer to 54 - 10 instead of the actual final of 33 - 16.

Broncos take down Hawaii 27 - 7

The Broncos started slow but finished fine in this home game win over Hawaii. BSU defense was sharp once again with multiple interceptions against the Warrior's new QB. The offense looked better than last week as well after they got in the rhythm of things. All in all a decent win, but once again I'd be surprised if they move up in the rankings unless another team was to drop out (BYU?).

UPDATE: Bwahaha! BCS ranked Boise State at ! Other polls have us at 13, but the road win over Oregon probably went a long way with the computers.

Broncos vs. Warriors Tonight 6 PM MST on ESPN

Well, that time is upon us. Another here at BSU. Tonight the Broncos will play the reigning WAC champions in a bid to take back that title. Hawaii coming off an upset win over Fresno State, so the Broncos will have to take away their momentum early in the game.

Broncos take down Southern Miss.

Another Saturday, another win for BSU. I can't say that I was overly impressed by the way they played; there were numerous penalties and unforced mistakes that, where they not committed, would have made the end a much more convincing win. They did win, however, and beat the spread by 11 points.

The rankings haven't come out yet, but I'm not expecting that we will move up much, if at all. Now it's back home for the Hawaii game next week.

Broncos 37, Ducks 32

I just about had a heart attack on Saturday. After the Broncos took a decent lead of 21 points, Oregon burned the red-shirt year of their new QB, Thomas, in an effort to take back the game. It worked, to a degree. Thomas was good and he aired the ball, which BSU was not prepared for. He lead the Ducks in a charge that would nearly overtake the Broncos. They had been anticipating the run and, for all of the first half, had been right on. When O switched to passing, the defense had to adjust. In the last bit of the 4th, Boise State seemed to be better covering the pass and they pulled out the win.

As of Sunday's polls, Boise State Broncos are ranked & and Kellen Moore has been selected as the National Offensive Player of the Week. Oregon is now out of the top 25.

GO BRONCOS!!!

Broncos 20, Bowling Green 7

BSU wins game 2. Next week, Oregon Ducks. This will probably be one of the more challenging games for us this season. I'm really liking our new QB, Kellen Moore. He shows very calm under pressure and the accuracy is superb. Now it sounds like wide receiver Kirby Moore, Kellen's brother, has committed to the Broncos as well. Nice!
