Darth Barack

Here's another video from Alfonzo Rachel. This time it's a mix between the Matrix and Star Wars. He takes on Darth Barry, err Barack.

Andrew Jackson, where are you?

What happened to convictions like this in a Presidential candidate?

"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country.

When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank.

You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families.

That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin!

Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin!

You are a den of vipers and thieves."

Andrew Jackson, 7th US President

Why I can't vote for Obama - by Huntley Brown

I just received this by email from a friend and thought it good enough to post. I like it because he's not endorsing or trying to persuade people to vote for a certain candidate, but he presents valid reasons why he is choosing not to vote for Obama. I would have never voted for him even before reading this for many of the same reasons outlined here. McCain is not the only other choice either. Will one of those two win? Probably. But neither accurately represents the values that I would like to see in a President.

Why I Can't Vote For Obama By Huntley Brown

Dear Friends, A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...

First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him. Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads, I follow. I can't dictate the terms, He does because He is the leader. I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

Ahh, some sanity

Jim Rogers tells CNBC "The way to solve this problem is let people go bankrupt...the people who are sound will take over the assets from the people who are unsound and we will start over." Why is it that those of us who have been responsible are made to bail out those who have not?
