Hanging the American flag from your balcony? You could be a Nazi or something!

has this story from New Jersey, where a woman is facing eviction because she wants to fly her flag. Surprise

An elderly woman in New Jersey faces eviction for refusing to remove American flags from her balcony.

Dawn Paulus of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, has three small American flags on the balcony of her apartment, and was ordered to take them down.

The Phillipsburg Housing Authority told Paulus that hanging the flags is a violation of her lease.

Paulus, 75, left the flags up anyway, Fox News Radio , and she has no intention of complying.

Residents of the apartment complex are not officially permitted to hang anything from balconies, but tenants frequently hang laundry.

An official from the housing authority told Paulus that her American flags must be removed “because of the Nazi flags,” she told Fox News Radio. “If I hung the American flag up and someone hung a Nazi flag up they couldn’t tell them to take the Nazi flag down and still let me fly the American flag.”

Paul Rummerfield, executive director at the Phillipsburg Housing Authority, told Fox that under the Fair Housing Act, the housing authority cannot discriminate against any particular kind of flag.

One heck of a typo

Whole story at .  They aren't birthers though Wink

Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."

The booklet, which was distributed to "business colleagues" in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.

It also promotes Obama's anticipated first book, Journeys in Black and White--which , later publishing Dreams from My Fatherinstead.

Obama’s biography in the booklet is as follows (image and text below):

Mother's Day irony: Planned Parenthood says to celebrate by donating to your local abortion center

Not one to miss an opportunity, Planned Parenthood is hoping to cash in this Mother's Day.  From :

As families across the nation gather to celebrate Mother’s Day, others will gather to support the abortion industry. Never one to miss a fundraising opportunity, a New York affiliate of Planned Parenthood is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch to support the clinic.

Here is the advertisement that was published in  (ironically, over an advertisement for a children’s garden):

Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes will hold its second annual Mother’s Day celebration at Moosewood and will feature two seatings, 10:30 a.m. to noon and noon to 1:30 p.m. May 13 at the restaurant, 215 N. Cayuga St. in the DeWitt Mall.

The brunch will include coffee, juice, breads, soup and a choice of vegetarian or vegan entrees. Admission is $18 per seat. All proceeds will go to support Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Oh, the irony: Government $15.6T in debt runs 16 different programs teaching Financial Literacy

A case of the blind leading the blind?  Perhaps instead of reducing the number of programs from 56 to 16, they should have kept going.  Read the whole story at .

A federal government that is $15.6 trillion in debt is currently using its “bully pulpit” to run 16 different programs to teach citizens “financial literacy,” according to the Government Accountability Office, the accounting agency of the U.S. Congress.

Previously, relying on a study by the RAND Corporation, the GAO had reported that the federal government operated 56 programs to teach citizens “financial literacy.” However, it subsequently determined that 16 was a better count of what it called the government’s “significant financial literacy programs.”

Even among these 16 federal programs that teach citizens “financial literacy,” the GAO found that there is some duplication of efforts and no definitive way to measure the programs’ effectiveness.

The GAO said it held a forum last year where people concluded that the federal government enjoyed a unique “bully pulpit” from which it could preach to citizens about handling their money.

Hot Problems

Apparently they are just like me... only hot.  Who knew?

This post gets tagged with "Music," but just barely.  It's already being called the world's worst music video, but I've seen worse.  Granted, they can't sing, but it is kinda funny.  Between the off-key voices and the ridiculousness of it, it's no wonder they are being compared to .

Have fun!

D.C. bureaucrats think victimhood is preferable to self-defense

The notion that when being confronted by a criminal, even one intent on doing grave bodily harm, one should just give them whatever they want - well that's just ridiculous.

But that is exactly what Paul Quander, deputy mayor for D.C.'s Public Safety and Justice, would have you do. The aggressor is protected more than the victim! It's no wonder the District is wrought with crime. From :

The progressive policy regarding rising crime can be summed up as follows: .

After his roommate and his girlfriend were robbed by armed men in ski masks, Benjamin Portman of Washington, DC became sufficiently alarmed to attend a community meeting on skyrocketing local violence. There he asked why bureaurats make it all but impossible for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves by exercising the Second Amendment.

Paul Quander, the District’s deputy mayor for public safety and justice, responded that crime victims should give the criminals what they want. Mr. Portman protested, saying, “But how do you know you’re going live and survive? You’re completely at their mercy.”

Canadian man arrested for weapons possession after daughter draws a picture of him with a toy gun

Here's what happens when laws go so far that they get stupid. In her class at school, a girl drew a picture of her daddy shooting at monsters. He was subsequently sought out, arrested, and strip-searched.

The "gun" she had seen him with is a plastic toy dart gun. I guess it's time to ban toys now too, eh? You'll shoot your eye out, kid!

From :

A Canadian father was arrested and strip-searched Wednesday after his 4-year-old daughter drew a picture of a gun in her kindergarten class.

Ontario dad Jesse Sansone told the  his little girl’s drawing was supposed to be him, getting monsters and bad guys. Her teacher apparently thought differently, and the school contacted child protective services. When Sansone arrived to pick his daughter up, three police officers were waiting to take him into custody.
