Admiral William McRaven on How to Change the World

Very inspiring commencement speech. Read more at :

In his commencement address to the University of Texas at Austin’s class of 2014, McRaven himself shared 10 lessons he learned from SEAL training that are crucial for those who want to change the world:

1. Make your bed properly, because if you can’t do the little things right, you will never do the big things right.
2. Find someone to help you paddle.
3. Measure by the size of the heart, not the size of the flippers.
4. Get over being a sugar cookie, and keep moving forward.
5. Don’t be afraid of the circuses.
6. Sometimes you have to slide headfirst.
7. Don’t back down from the sharks.
8. You must be your very best in the darkest moments.
9. When you are up to your neck in cold mud, start singing.
10. Don’t ever, ever ring the bell.
