Boise State Football officially moves to the Big East

I'm still not sure what a school from the Northwest is doing in the Big East, but whatever.  The ink is now dry on the deal.  :

After multiple outside sources confirmed the move, Boise State University officially joined the Big East Conference on Saturday.

BSU will now start the 2013-14 school year as a football-only member. However, the Broncos will remain in the MWC for the team's 2012-2013 season.

As required by its agreement with the Mountain West, Boise State issued its withdrawal from that conference prior to Friday night’s midnight deadline for withdrawal.

In addition, Boise State officials say they are in ongoing, substantive discussions with the Big West Conference as a home for the majority of the school's remaining sports. The Big West plans to hold a meeting prior to the start of the upcoming academic year and make a final decision on Boise State’s membership.

“There is no doubt that conference affiliation is a difficult and complex issue, but I am very pleased where we stand today and excited for the future prospects of all of our Bronco sports,” said Boise State President Dr. Bob Kustra.

Just a reminder, all Boise State sports will compete in the MWC for the 2012-13 school, with the exception of wrestling (Pac-12) and gymnastics (WAC).
